NoscAi in Silicon Valley: Insights from the Heart of Tech Innovation
The tech magazine AI.MAG (ai-mag.de) has taken notice of us!
Press & Publicity

We at NoscAi recently had a fantastic opportunity: Thanks to the "Trans-Nation Co-Creation" program, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), our co-founder was able to travel to Silicon Valley for a week. The goal was to gain deep insights into what is probably the world's most dynamic technology ecosystem, along with CEOs of other German startups and medium-sized companies—not just as tourists, but through intensive workshops and visits to renowned institutions and companies.

Academic Excellence Meets Entrepreneurial Spirit: Insights from Stanford & d.school
The first days at Stanford University were a highlight in themselves. You immediately feel that special energy where top-notch research, established companies, and emerging startups are extremely interconnected to collaboratively shape the future. The interaction at the famous Stanford Faculty Club with Professor Michael Shanks on design and innovation, the practical sessions at the d.school on design thinking—a core component of our work at ClinicOS®—and another workshop on leadership with the likewise renowned Professor Banny Banerjee were incredibly valuable. The workshops offered us the valuable opportunity to experience these methods and ways of thinking directly at their place of origin and to better understand their practical relevance.
Valley Reality: From Da Vinci Robots to Autonomous Waymos
But the Valley is not just theory. We experienced innovation up close: At pitch events, we felt the ambition and pragmatic scaling focus of the next generation of founders. An absolute highlight, especially for us as a health tech startup, was the visit to Intuitive Surgical. Seeing how far the company behind the Da Vinci surgical robots has come and how their technology is changing lives worldwide was enormously inspiring. At Ideo, we saw how systematic creativity leads to groundbreaking products. And then the rides with Waymo: Autonomous vehicles are already part of everyday life there, not a distant future—a striking sign for the enormous speed and adaptability in Silicon Valley.

Mindset & Leadership: Learning from Expats and Tech Giants
Equally important were the encounters. The exchange with successful German expats like OMR co-founder Christian Byza, who introduced us to his startup Learn.xyz at the "House of AI" in San Francisco, showed the strength of the local network. During visits to tech giants LinkedIn and Microsoft, it was less about the (undoubtedly impressive) campus facilities and more about the culture behind them. High-ranking representatives gave us valuable insights into leadership in rapidly growing environments and the concept of "Intelligent Risk Taking." Understanding how calculated risks are actively promoted as innovation drivers there was also highly relevant for us as a startup. The visit to SAP in Silicon Valley also showed how a German heavyweight successfully operates in the epicenter of the tech world. The program was rounded off by talks with representatives of the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad (AHK) San Francisco and the German Consulate, who introduced us to the support structures on site.

Impulses & Validation for NoscAi
For us as a startup, this trip was an important source of impetus. It was about understanding the way of thinking and working in the Valley: the high energy and speed, the strong focus on execution, the acceptance of failure as a learning process, and the natural pursuit of ambitious goals ("Think Big"). We were especially pleased that we found much of our own NoscAi mentality there: accelerating, working with focus, and consistently completing tasks. The week not only inspired us but also reinforced our path with ClinicOS®. A heartfelt thank you to the Transnational Innovation team for the excellent organization of this intense and insightful week!
